A friend's cousin jumped into weaving a few years ago. This information afforded me the perfect opportunity to clean out my handspun stash. I think all in all I shared about 40 lbs of handspun - I have to guess about this because I'd fill one of those huge ziplock storage bags about every 6 months. Anyhow, this meant that I could buy more fleece (always a desirable thing!) and the cousin had plenty of yarn to experiment weaving with.
Last year, I recieved 2 pieces and about a fortnight ago, another 2 pieces came my way. The last 2 were accompanied by the weaver herself which was splendid!!
I had to wait til we had actual sunlight to photograph these. It's been too dry and cloudy here which can dampen one's spirits.
The green runner is in the living room, the pink and brown runner is on the kitchen table, the little bag is awaiting an e-reader and the cotton dishtowel (in spite of stern charges from the weaver to use it as a dishtowel!) is in my study where I can see it everyday. I love them all and I thank D heartily for them.
One item which made M's and my day last week was seeing a banner across the rear window of a small car in Loveland. I immediately thought of our favorite school counseler and her enthrallment of certain things. The banner read in large white letters:
Zombie Outbreak Response Vehicle
There are things that just seem to cheer one up when the world seems to be in disarray.

Wow~ Beautiful!
40lbs! No wonder the ratio (spinners to weaver) is 7 to 1!
