If the sun ever comes out, I'll post a photo of the 1st finished bedroom curtain. I'm 14" into the 2nd one (these are about 50" long, 40" wide).
Yesterday we went to Denver's Cherry Creek Art Festival. Besides visiting with Sophie and her family, M and I were looking for piece of artwork for our anniversary. Our 9th was a week or so ago. We thought some sort of 3-D sculpture or painting or photograph ... something to put on the dining room wall. We narrowed our preferences down to 3 - prices ranged from $1300 - 3000, tho. We decided to pick up business cards and think about it some more. My favorite was a metal artist.
M removed the bottom branches of the ash tree which opened sunlight for the gardens. I hadn't realized how big the ash has grown and how much shade it provides on the south side. The tree shaded most of the right side of the photo. The strawberry bed is self-expanding - our strawberries have been over for weeks now, but next year I need to transplant some elsewhere (where?).
The front yard looks good - you can see to the left a new bit of garden with baby daylilies and peonies. The daylilies at the front are some I rooted in jars after giving the original fans away (I think to Elizabeth and Cyndy) Once some other friends in process of moving get settled, I can divide some to share. It's a good way to keep my daylily addiction in check. Sorta.
The daily rain has been wonderful but some of us need the sun. I took this through the back screen door - didn't want to disturb Bridget and Ted's nap. They are both 9 this year - Bridgy on July 20th. The years have rolled by pretty quickly.
Chery brought M a piece of this cactus a few years ago.

Obviously I'm way behind on my blog reading but I wanted to tell you how beautiful Sophie is (as if you didn't know) Time sure does fly, doesn't it?

I'm sure they were great selections - because obviously... with those prices... you have excellent taste. :)
Hm... strawberries might do okay in planter boxes, right? On my sunny back deck?

Sophie is absolutely adorable!
Have you been to the new Soapstone Natural area yet? The cacti at the higher elevations of the area are amazingly in bloom along with many, many more flowers. It is unbelievable!
