Here's one of the many cups full of spindles M had made me over the years - these are stone
whorls rings donuts (thanks Kristi - I couldn't remember what they are called in the shops) we find in rock and bead shops. M won't let me buy a stone ring unless it balances. I managed to buy one coz it was a gorgeous red but of course, it isn't balanced. It's not for sale coz it's too pretty to go anywhere. I have several smaller spindles I keep in my purse for road trip spindling - here's 2.
I've been spring cleaning and gazed at the spindles while working on the workroom. I sorted the ones I had to keep and put these in a for sale cup. The shafts are either cherry, walnut, oak or Brazilian hardwood (whatever that is) and the weights run from the purse size at .5 to 1.3 ounces. Yea, baby, laceweight spinning.
If anyone is interested and would like a better photo, weight and description and price (excluding shipping) e-mail me at catdair at juno dot com. I will take individual photos of the spindles to post when the sun comes out.
Added photos - rest your mouse on the photo for weight, wood and color/material. I photographed these on my postal scale - you may get an idea of the size of the whorl and the length of the shaft. Some hooks are brass and some a silvery color.
